OASIS Center volunteers provide more than 12,000 hours of service in each year. Last year, more than 150 of our volunteers were seniors themselves.

While members and associate members account for many of our volunteers, it’s not necessary that you are a member in order to volunteer with us. If you are interested, call our office at 937-9750, download our Volunteer Application Form and mail it to us or bring it in, or fill out the application below.

Here are some areas where we often need volunteer help:

Front desk hospitality

Answer phones, greet walk-ins, make coffee, serve snacks and other tasks as necessary. Three to four hour shift each week. Substitutes also needed. Requires patience and ability to adapt to whatever needs to be done. This can be a busy and rewarding position.

Special events

Assist with set-up, clean-up, serving food, cooking, decorating, and other tasks as necessary. For example: holiday parties and special speakers are some of our special events.

Special projects

From time to time, we need individuals who can make phone calls, mailings, work on bulletin boards, special clerical projects, or various tasks around the office.

Maintenance & repairs

Hanging pictures, replacing washers in faucets, fixing shelves and chairs – from big to small, we have things around here that need special attention.

Are you able to call a homebound senior? We are looking for individuals to connect with those in our community who cannot make it to the OASIS Center.

We also often need help with monthly food distribution and our Orcutt Graffiti Abatement Program.
